Industrial Evaporation & Crystallization Solutions
Sodium Sulfate Evaporation and Crystallization System
We provide Na₂SO₄ evaporation and crystallization solutions for producing sodium sulfate crystals
Physical Properties and Applications of Sodium Sulfate
During the production of lithium salts such as lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide monohydrate, and lithium chloride, sodium sulfate is commonly produced as a byproduct. Its concentration and composition vary depending on the specific process. For example, in lithium carbonate production, sodium sulfate coexists in solution with lithium carbonate or lithium sulfate. In lithium hydroxide monohydrate processes, the solution contains small amounts of lithium hydroxide and tends to be alkaline. In lithium chloride production using sodium chloride, traces of LiCl may remain in the sodium sulfate solution.
Because of these variations, the evaporation and crystallization system must be tailored to each application. Sodium sulfate has a low boiling point elevation, and its solubility remains nearly constant above 30°C. System design often considers factors such as energy costs and initial investment. Depending on the situation, either MVR or multi-effect evaporation and crystallization technologies can be used effectively.
